'''Detailed description of a competition for local logos, emblems and heraldry'''

== 1. Purpose of the competition ==
The competition aims to create as wide a collection of logos and emblems as possible, reflecting a locality's identity, history, economy, traditions and culture. These emblems will become official and unofficial community symbols, made available to the public digitally in vector and bitmap formats. The competition seeks to involve the local community and participants from around the world, stimulating creativity and connecting the locality with local and global culture.

== 2. Eligible participants ==
The competition is open to everyone, without age or geographical limits. Professionals and amateurs passionate about graphic design, heraldry or digital art are invited to take part. Individual and team entries are accepted, from within or beyond the locality, area or region. We encourage diverse participation to bring together many perspectives and creative styles.

== 3. Competition themes ==
The theme is to represent distinctive, widely recognised local features, such as:
* '''Historical and cultural symbols:''' Buildings, monuments, local figures or traditions that define the community's identity.
* '''Natural and geographical features:''' Landscapes, local flora and fauna, distinctive climatic or geographical characteristics.
* '''Local economy and crafts:''' Traditional crafts, important economic activities such as agriculture, fishing or wine-growing, and modern industries contributing to the locality's development.
* '''Spiritual and religious symbolism:''' Places of worship, spiritual symbols or local myths and legends with special meaning for the community.
* '''Community identity:''' Symbols reflecting local unity and cooperation, and aspirations for the future.
Entries must be original. Participants are encouraged to explore the locality's history and character before developing their design.

== 4. Technical requirements ==
* '''Accepted formats:''' All logos and emblems must be created digitally. Vector formats, such as .ai and .svg, and bitmap formats, such as .png and .jpg, are accepted.
* '''Dimensions:''' Entries must scale for both large uses, such as banners and signage, and small ones, such as brochures and website logos. The recommended minimum bitmap size is 3000x3000 pixels; vector designs should scale without loss of quality.
* '''Colours:''' Submit colour and black-and-white versions to allow versatile use in different media.
* '''Heraldic tradition:''' Participants taking a heraldic approach should follow its rules and principles, including the use of particular symbols and colours.

== 5. Assessment criteria ==
A jury of experts in graphic design, local culture and heraldry, together with community members, will assess entries against these criteria:
* '''Relevance to the theme:''' How well the work reflects the locality's character and community identity.
* '''Originality and creativity:''' Innovation and uniqueness, avoiding plagiarism and commonplace elements.
* '''Clarity and simplicity:''' The logo's recognisability and memorability, without visual overload.
* '''Technical quality:''' Professional execution, compliance with requirements and suitability for different contexts.
* '''Practical application:''' Suitability for a broad range of digital and printed uses at different sizes.

== 6. Prizes and recognition ==
Winning entries will be published and made available to the local and international community under a public licence. Selected participants will receive financial prizes and public recognition. An in-person or virtual awards event will be organised, and prize-winning work will feature in a public exhibition.

== 7. Revenue and subsequent use ==
The winning logos and emblems will become part of the public heritage, available to anyone wishing to use them for non-commercial purposes. Revenue-generating approaches may nevertheless be used, including licensing for commercial use, selling personalised products such as T-shirts, posters and brochures, or other income sources that support the local community.

== 8. Competition calendar ==
* '''Official launch:''' The official announcement date and opening of entries.
* '''Entry period:''' Participants will have [X] weeks to submit their work.
* '''Assessment and judging:''' The jury will have [X] weeks to analyse and score entries against the agreed criteria.
* '''Announcement of winners:''' Results will be communicated at an awards ceremony or through online channels.

== 9. General rules ==
* Each participant may submit a maximum of [X] entries.
* All entries must be original, and participants must hold all rights in the design. Work containing copied elements or infringing copyright will be disqualified.
* Organisers reserve the right to use submitted work to promote the competition and locality, crediting its author.
* Organisers will not accept work promoting violence, discrimination or other offensive content.

== 10. Conclusions ==
This competition is a unique opportunity to celebrate a locality's identity through art and design. Involving the local community alongside international participants creates a cultural and creative exchange that will support the locality's promotion and development over the long term.
