__TOC__

Specify artwork format, dimensions and proportions clearly to avoid ambiguity and keep submissions consistent. These details are essential for printing promotional materials, digital use and application to different surfaces.

Here is how this can be set out:

== 1. Recommended proportions ==
* '''Aspect ratio:''' Entries should follow a standard ratio so they work across different media. Recommended ratios are:
** '''1:1 (square):''' Flexible for logos, emblems and badge-like formats. A square is easy to use for social-media profiles, stickers, badges and other digital and physical applications.
** '''4:3 (landscape rectangle):''' Useful for banners, posters and horizontal advertising materials.
** '''3:4 (portrait rectangle).'''
** '''16:9 (landscape rectangle):''' Useful for 16:9 screens or photographs.
** '''19:6 (portrait rectangle).'''
** '''Alternative proportions:''' If a participant chooses another ratio, justify it in the design description and demonstrate its applications in a mock-up.

== 2. Minimum dimensions and scalability ==
* '''Minimum vector size:''' No minimum is specified because vector files scale without loss of quality. However, optimise work so it remains clear at small sizes, for example 50x50 px.

== 3. File format and orientation ==
* '''Standard presentation format:''' Present all work in a main 1:1 square version, even if the final design's aspect ratio differs. This ensures consistency in judging and across different applications.
* '''Orientation:''' Participants may choose '''landscape''' or '''portrait''' to suit the design, its theme and practical use.

== 4. Safe margins and spacing ==
* '''Safe margin:''' Include at least '''5 mm''' on every side to avoid cutting off important elements when printed.
* '''Central elements:''' Position principal symbols and text centrally so they remain visible and unaffected by trimming or scaling.

== 5. Presenting mock-ups ==
* '''Mock-up dimensions:''' Where mock-ups are supplied, show sizes reflecting real applications. Examples:
** '''Small logos:''' A 50x50 px mock-up for social media or favicons.
** '''Large posters:''' A 2x1 m banner mock-up to demonstrate large-scale visibility.
** '''Promotional products:''' T-shirts, leaflets, pens and other items at sizes relevant to their use.

Clearly defining format, dimensions and proportions is crucial to consistent, practical use. These details help participants create versatile work that is easy to apply across multiple media and surfaces.
